Restyling of Family Jewelry
"What am I supposed to do with all this STUFF?"
I hear this question frequently. I respond with, "Let's sit down, see what you have and decide what is important to you." Our clients are often surprised to find out that they have something valuable. Sometimes an item, long thought to be precious, is actually not. Either way, it is a process of exploration and evolution. We can use the gemstones and create a new piece full of connections and memories. Sometimes we can use the piece itself in a new design, or it can inspire a different one. It is usually a very satisfying experience for everyone involved.
The wedding set in the photo is an example of a recent Family Restyle piece that Deborah designed and fabricated. All of the diamonds are from family pieces and the angling gold band is the mother's original wedding ring Deb has forged into a new shape. She devised and added an embossed sterling ring as a base element for the bezel set diamonds. The significant emerald cut diamond was set individually to be the engagement ring. The finished set is enchanting, unique, and extremely wearable. We have created a Family Restyle video that shows this ring from start to finish-- we hope you enjoy it. See you at the Studio!
